Grosse Pointe Academy students are introduced to athletics and the spirit of healthy competition.
In the Lower School, students in Grades 1 through 4 participate in physical education classes and also have the opportunity to participate in after-school intramural sports.
Students in Grades 5 – 8 continue to participate in physical education classes, but also have the opportunity to participate in competitive interscholastic athletics. Our teams teams face both independent and public schools. Boys teams include soccer, tennis, cross country, basketball and lacrosse. Girls teams include volleyball, cross country, basketball, tennis and soccer.
The long-term objective of the athletics program at the Academy is to help students build character, hone leadership skills, play fair and form a positive self-image. Our athletic program encourages our children to seek a healthy, active lifestyle, take risks in order to learn and strive for excellence.
