Academy students are introduced to athletics and the spirit of healthy competition at a young age through physical education classes and after-school intramural sports (for students in grades 1 – 3).
Students in grades 5 – 8 have the opportunity to participate in competitive interscholastic athletics. Teams face both independent and public schools in soccer, tennis, cross country, basketball and lacrosse for boys, and volleyball, cross country, basketball, tennis and soccer for girls.
The long-term objective of the athletics program at The Grosse Pointe Academy is to help students build character, hone leadership skills, play fair and form a positive self-image. Our athletic program encourages our children to seek a healthy, active lifestyle, take risks in order to learn and strive for excellence. Go Bulldogs!
