Our “Returning to The Grosse Pointe Academy: A Comprehensive Guide” outlines the 2020-21 safety protocol and procedures that allowed us to continue our mission during the pandemic. These protocols were a culmination of the State of Michigan’s Safe Schools Roadmap, CDC guidelines, The Wayne County Public Health Department and the recommendations of The Grosse Pointe Academy’s Reopening of School Task Force.
Our Montessori Early School remained open during all of Michigan’s Safe Start phases, and aside from a couple school-wide closures (at which time students moved to remote learning) given out of an abundance of caution around holiday times, we are proud to say that our students received an in-person learning experience all year long. Families in Grades 1-8 were given the option to learn remotely during this unprecedented year, thanks to the purchase and installation of new state-of-the-art technology that allows students to interact with their classmates and teachers as they virtually in real time.
Safety protocols for the 2021-22 school year will be released before the start of school.
